Everything was in the hands of God now. We got our finances all worked out and placed a call to Dr. Young to let him know we were ready to start IVF! Wow! I can not believe that this was actually happening, we are really going through with this.

Freddy and I met with Dr. Young today. He gave us the okay to start IVF!! I was so nervous during that meeting I am not sure I was even breathing. He went over all the details and explained the steps to IVF and what to expect. Here we go!

Today we had our IVF instruction class. They went over in detail what to expect from beginning to end, what medications we would be on, timeline and finally a WHOLE BUNCH of paperwork. It was very overwhelming but we got lots of good information. This was it we were on our way to the next journey in our lives.....IVF.
January 14, 2010
Today was our baseline testing. They did a ultrasound to check how everything looks along with blood work before I started on medications. Tonight will be the beginning of the medications. I will be on 5 injections a day and 4 pills over the next 14 days.
January 14, 2011 - January 23, 2011
Well the past 10 days have been an emotional roller coaster. I have been going in to the doctors every other day for ultrasounds and blood work to see how I am progressing. I was all over the place, first I was responding and then I slowed down so they didn't think we were able to continue. I had to increase some of my medications and then I started to respond again and we looked like we were good to go.
January 23, 2011
Today was the deciding factor. I was going into to have a final ultrasound and blood work to see if we were able to continue. My appointment was at 9:00am and I think it was the longest 3 hour wait for them to call me to let me know my results. Well at about 1:15pm Tiffany finally called me with some good news.....levels were high enough to continue!!! Yay! I would take my trigger shot tonight and then be at the Dr. Office Thursday morning for Egg Retrieval.
January 26, 2011
Today is the day of egg retrieval. This is the day where they will take my eggs out of me for fertilization. It is a minor procedure and I was sedated. I don't remember much after Dr. Cooper telling me he was giving me an IV Margarita which will be the best one I have ever had. Next thing I knew I was waking up asking when they were going get started, little did I know I was already done and ready to go home. They were able to get 5 mature eggs that were viable for fertilization.
They called later that day to let us know that 3 out of the 5 had fertilized!
February 2, 2011
Transfer Day! Today they will be transferring up to 2 egg back. After the 5 day waiting period we only had one egg that survived and fertilized correctly, so we will be transferring that one. Dr. Cooper said it was picture perfect, not sure if he tells everyone that but I will take it!
After the transfer was completed I had to wait 30 minutes before I could move and then it was time to go home where I will be on bed rest for 3 days.
February 2-5, 2011
I had a very relaxing 3 days in bed. Watched a lot of TV and movies. Freddy stayed home with me so it was nice to have him to help. He was very good to me. The only time I ever got up was to go the restroom.
Once my 3 days bed rest was up I was free to do normal activity. It was nice that it was the weekend so I could still lay low for a few days. Monday I was back to work and began our 2 week waiting period to find out if we were pregnant or not.
2 weeks of waiting....
I think that had to be the longest 2 weeks of our lives. Now we did have the option to test early at home if we wanted to. I went back and forth on what I wanted to do. I decided to test early because I needed to be prepared if I was going to get a negative test from the Dr. I would have liked the surprise of a phone call saying we were pregnant but couldn't handle it if it was a bad call. So we decided to test early. Now you can laugh at this next part. I knew Monday February 7th was the earliest I could test so all my medications were out that could give false readings. So Monday evening I tested. It was a very faint positive which they say is how it starts, I had to have Freddy read it to make sure I wasn't seeing things. But he agreed. I tested the next day...slightly darker. The next day....even darker. Day after that even darker! I was beginning to think it was positive but still was having a hard time believing it. So I took the next couple of days off from testing and then tested with a digital pregnancy test.....
February 14, 2011 ( Valentines Day )
Went in for our first of three blood test to confirm if we were pregnant.
( I think you all know what the results were.....we ARE PREGNANT!! )
That is where our IVF journey ends and our pregnancy journey begins.....
